Illustration Work
Siren Concept
This is my midterm project for my class "Character Design and Layout". The assignment was to re-imagine a mythical creature. In history, sirens have been most commonly interpreted as either half bird or half fish. For my project, I combined the two concepts into a creature that could dwell in both land and sea. I physically drew all of the pieces for this project before bringing them into photoshop for rendering.
She can fly in the sky, breathe underwater, and plays the harp while she sings to bring in meat.
"Dilirium"
This was my final project for "Character Design and Layout" class, where we had to create an original concept for a show or book.
"Dilirium" is about a trio of abnormalities. Mr. Skull is an undead ranger who can't move on until he learns who he was. He keeps abandoned bluejay eggs safe in his ribcage.
Poppy is a puppet who came to life and wants someone to make her a mouth so she can speak. Her interpreter is Bellrose, a ghost of a fairy using flower petals to maintain her form.
Together they search for their place in the world.
"Sneaking Into Class"
This is a "Storyboarding" Class asignment where we had to create a storyboard about someone trying to sneak into class. For my concept I had an alien kidnapping a kid and stealing his likeness so he could get into the class undetected.
"Fishy Day"
"Fishy Day" is a storyboarding project taking a creative take on a character's/ our daily routine. My concept was a mermaid struggling to be ready for work on time.
"Self Insert Character"
For "Character Design and Layout" I experimented with drawing myself in different animated styles I was not used to. I tried to challenge myself with styles and do unique interpretations of how I would portray myself in the show. Instead of drawing myself like the Power Puff Girls themselves and I drew myself like how a lot of the background characters were drawn. Most of the female-presenting background characters have spiky feet while the rest of them is more smooth, which I had not noticed prior to my attempt.
Personal Sketchbook
Here are some of my favorite illustrations I've made in my free time, ranging from ink to digital, with a few mixed mediums.
